CBeebies Playtime

CBeebies Playtime is a flagship app for CBeebies featuring a multitude of your favourite shows and characters. Explore a world full of fun games designed to aid child development, allowing children to learn whilst they play in a safe and secure environment.

All of the family can join in creating their own profile, having a personalised experience and a sense of ownership as they progress – earning rewards and achievements. Parents can join in the fun; recording special messages for their little ones, finding information on the learning benefits and useful tips to help them and their children get the most from the app.

Project Notes

This ambitious project was in turn both a major opportunity and high-profile risk for CBeebies, the first type of app of this kind for the organisation. It required something accessible, educational, highly-polished, fun and reliable. Mobile Pie delivered on all counts and the app has become a major success story.

The app was chosen by the Guardian as one of the Top 50 apps of the year, was nominated for both Bafta and RTS awards and featured in Apple’s Top Free iPad apps list.
